Examination Regulation No. 6 (PO 6) will go into effect on 01.01.2026.
The most important changes in PO 6 at a glance:
- Strengthening of the subject of accounting through the establishment of a new course entitled ‘Accounting, ERM and Modelling’; the related PO 5 course ‘Modelling and ERM’ will accordingly not be continued in PO 6.
- Creation of a new course entitled ‘Data Science and Artificial Intelligence’
- Adjusted focus in the course ‘Corporate Management’ and division of all content between the subjects ‘Economic and Legal Environment’ and ‘Accounting, ERM and Modelling’, thereby eliminating the previous PO 5 subject ‘Corporate Management’
- Demand-oriented modernisation of the content of the other Foundation courses with correspondingly updated learning objectives.
- The following transitional arrangements apply in the event of a voluntary change from PO 5 to PO 6.

Transitional arrangements PO 5 to PO 6
As a student of PO 5, you can voluntarily switch to the new PO 6 at any time:
- All credits already earned will be fully recognised upon transfer. Passed examinations in the subjects ‘Modelling and ERM’ (for the new subject ‘Accounting, ERM and Modelling’) and/or ‘Corporate Management’ (for the new subject ‘Data Science and AI’) will be credited without restriction.
- The two subjects ‘Modelling and ERM’ and ‘Corporate Management’ from PO 5 will continue to be offered in their current form until 2030. Please note: Due to the extensive changes in content in the basic knowledge subject ‘Accounting, ERM and Modelling’ in accordance with PO 6, we are not yet able to provide you with specific dates for preparatory events and examinations. Please take this into account in your individual training progress. If, for example, this subject is the only one you are missing to complete your DAV training, it may make more sense for you to remain in the previous PO 5 for time reasons.
- It is not possible to switch from PO 6 to PO 5.
DAV specialist courses to be attended
In addition to the foundation courses candidates must pass examinations in two specialist courses. These two examinations must be selected from one of the following specialisations in accordance with the candidate’s evidenced professional experience. Candidates may not register for the examinations in the specialist courses selected before attending the respective mandatory seminars in the subject.

Yes, you can take the examinations for both the Foundation and Specialist courses in any order you choose depending on how the seminar and examination dates suit your professional and personal circumstances. For example, you can take examinations for the Specialist courses before those for the Foundation courses. Furthermore, the two modules of a specialisation do not usually build on one another meaning that the examination for Module 2 can be taken before the examination for Module 1.
Exception: In the specialisation ADS you are recommended to take Module 1 before Module 2.
Recognition of Examinations Taken at University
If you have already taken examinations in subjects from the DAV Foundation or Specialist courses during your university studies these may be recognised for your DAV education and training. A prerequisite for this recognition is that your university has a DAV liaison lecturer who can issue evidence that you can attach to your application for admission to the DAV‘s education and training programme.
This overview can tell you whether your university has a DAV liaison lecturer.
