Admission requirements
Find out all you need to know about the admission requirements for DAV training and the various options for submitting the necessary documentation.
Please note: The DAV training programme and all examinations are fully in German.
According to the current examination regulations, admission to the DAV training programme requires proof of a completed degree at a university in Germany and proof that knowledge of mathematics has been acquired in accordance with the DAV learning objectives catalogue. Degrees from abroad are individually assessed for comparability by the admissions committee upon request.
Proof of mathematical knowledge can be provided in one of the following three ways.
If your university has a DAV correspondent, proof of basic knowledge of mathematics must be obtained from this person.

If your university has no DAV correspondent this evidence can be substituted with evidence that you have at least 30 ECTS credit points in stochastics exams.
Please list your stochastics exams here in your application for admission. The admissions committee will decide whether your stochastics examinations can be recognised as an alternative form of evidence.
If your university does not have a DAV correspondent, proof can be replaced by evidence that at least 90 credit points according to ECTS have been earned in mathematical examinations during your studies.
Please list your mathematical examination results in your application for admission. The Admissions Committee will decide on the eligibility of the mathematical examination results in this alternative form of proof.
If the two above-mentioned requirements cannot be proven, an entrance examination in mathematics (MZP) must be taken in accordance with the learning objectives catalogue of the DAV.
Please note: The admission examination must be taken before the basic and specialised knowledge examinations of the DAV training programme.
To prepare for the MZP, you can attend the preparatory course offered by the University of Ulm, which cooperates with the DAV. All information about the course can be found on the University of Ulm website.
In addition, at the bottom of this website you will find past examination papers (including sample solutions) from previous years' MZP exams, which you can also use to prepare for the exam. Please also note the aids permitted during the exam.
