Education Programme to become a “Certified Enterprise Risk Actuary” (CERA)
The CERA additional qualification was established by 13 actuarial associations worldwide in order to strengthen the role of actuaries as risk managers. Meanwhile, 27 associations now offer their members the chance to join the CERA education and training programme. You can find more detailed information on the website of the CERA Global Association.
If you, too, wish to become a specialist in risk management then make an investment in your future and find out about the CERA education and training programme in accordance with the current CERA examination regulations.

In accordance with the current examination regulations the CERA Education Programme consists of the following four modules:
- Module A: Quantitative Methods of ERM
- Module B: Taxonomy, Modelling and Transfer of Risks
- Module C: Processes in ERM
- Module D: Economic Capital in Enterprise Management and Steering
Because of the contents covered, we recommend taking Module A and B first, before continuing with Module C and D.
For all exams covering Foundation and Specialist Courses, the DAA offers preparation seminars. Registration for exams in the chosen specialized subject requires participation in the respective mandatory seminars for that field.

Scripts for the DAA Seminars
The scripts for the respective DAA seminars are protected by copyright and can only be purchased as part of attending a seminar.
Exception: For candidates who need to retake an exam and have already attended a seminar in that subject at the DAA, it is possible to obtain the current script at a reduced price. The cost for the script is then 1/3 of the current seminar fee.
If interested, please contact the DAV office's secretariat by email at info@aktuar.de.
All CERA examinations take the form of a written examination that lasts 180 minutes. Examinations for Modules A, C and D are held in May each year; examinations for Module B are held in October.
If subjects of the specialist courses of the DAV education programme in ERM 1 and ERM 2 have already been successfully passed, these will automatically be credited as passed in your CERA education programme, so that the only remaining subjects that have not yet been successfully completed need to be taken.
