Providing good, affordable coverage for illness and long-term care is a task for society as a whole in this country. Sharply rising costs have recently put enormous pressure on long-term care insurance in particular. Wiltrud Pekarek, board member and chair of the health insurance committee at the German Association of Actuaries (DAV), points out the measures that need to be taken.
