National and international network

As a neutral authority, we support politicians and the media in socially relevant issues relating to the protection of individual and social risks in the interests of people and companies alike in order to ensure a fair balance of interests between the parties involved. In the ‘Newsroom’ you will find an overview of current press releases and positions and contacts to the DAV's political communication.

International cooperation is also of strategic importance to DAV. For example, we are competently represented in all important committees of the two international umbrella organisations of actuaries, the International Actuarial Association based in Ottawa and the Actuarial Association of Europe based in Brussels. Regular coordination at European level in particular helps to effectively pool actuarial positions and speak with one voice to the EU institutions.

The General Meeting, which takes place once a year, and the Board of Directors elected by it are essential for the direction of the German Actuarial Association. The latter manages the organisation and, in particular, brings together the specialist input from the specialist committees. These specialist committees are the superordinate units that organise the specific professional exchange between members. Information on the committees' areas of activity can be found under the “Our topics” tab. Members receive all the latest news on current issues and the respective actuarial answers as part of regular daily reporting in the internal section of the website and in the members' magazine DAV Journal.
