Compulsory insurance against natural disasters – how do we implement this correctly?

The German Association of Actuaries (DAV) warns against viewing the introduction of compulsory insurance against natural disasters as a simple solution to growing climate risks. At its annual digital press conference today, the DAV emphasized that such insurance coverage can only work efficiently if it is accompanied by clear risk differentiation, effective prevention, and state-backed reinsurance mechanisms.
