Climate scenarios – practical application in capital investments
Overview
The final report addresses issues related to climate scenarios in capital investments. Specifically, it provides an overview of methods already available on the market for measuring climate risks in capital investments, with a focus on practical relevance rather than the development of theoretical approaches. The report addresses actuaries in capital investments or risk management and provides support, for example, in the preparation of the ORSA report.
The final report is intended for the members and committees of the German Association of Actuaries (DAV) to inform them about the status of the discussion and the findings obtained and does not represent a professionally legitimate position of the DAV.[1]
[1] The proper application of the final report requires actuarial expertise. This final report therefore does not constitute a substitute for appropriate professional actuarial services. Actuarial decisions impacting personal pensions and insurance, capital investments, or business activities should be made exclusively on the basis of the assessment of a qualified DAV actuary.
