Specialized Branch association of DAV
Since its foundation in 1980, the IVS - Institut der Versicherungsmathematischen Sachverständigen für Altersversorgung e.V. (Institute of Pension Actuaries) has successfully pursued the goal of promoting the professional interests of its members and advocating the public recognition of the profession. The members of the Institute are available to provide high-quality professional support and advice to all institutions and individuals working in the field of pensions. As a branch of the German Actuarial Association (DAV), the Institute maintains close contact with actuaries throughout the insurance and financial sector.
Members of the IVS are also members of the DAV and have therefore completed the demanding “Actuary DAV” education programme. In addition, they have at least three years of relevant professional experience and take additional examinations in pension actuarial mathematics as well as in labour and tax law and company pension accounting. IVS-certified pension actuaries are sought-after experts in all aspects of occupational pension schemes due to their high level of professional qualification.
Special attention is also paid to CPD for IVS members. All members are obliged to document a minimum amount of further training each year. In addition, a binding professional code of conduct defines the framework for the professional behaviour of actuaries, while standards of practice provide specific guidelines for actuarial practice and thus ensure that pension actuaries practise their profession in a professional, serious and diligent manner.
