Institute of Pension Actuaries (IVS)
The Institute of Pension Actuaries ("Institut der Versicherungsmathematischen Sachverständigen für Altersversorgung e.V.", IVS) is a branch of the DAV focussing on occupational pensions and was founded in 1980. The IVS has 840 members, which are all members of the DAV as well. IVS members may use the title
Certified Pensions Actuary (IVS) ("IVS-geprüfter versicherungsmathematischer Sachverständiger für Altersversorgung") or rather
Actuary DAV / IVS ("Aktuar DAV / IVS").
To become an IVS member, candidates have to pass exams in addition to the actuarial training by DAV in the fields of pension mathematics, employment, and tax law as well as accounting for institutions for occupational retirement provision. Moreover the IVS members need at least three years of relevant professional experience.
